There will be no Medicare rebates when GPs order knee MRIs for the over 50s from November 1
You may have seen the story on the knee MRI cuts in today’s News Ltd papers – I have attached a copy of the full article.
Rachel Sporn (Olympic basketball medallist) and Wayne Schwass (AFL premiership player) have just turned or about to turn 50, and spoke out in support of ADIA’s campaign, as well as the National Seniors advocate Ian Henschke. The College of GPs president is also quoted and recommends that the measure be reviewed. This is the first time that the RACGP has come out in support of our position.
