Advanced training in Musculoskeletal Imaging
Australia and New Zealand

There are currently four positions for advanced training in musculoskeletal imaging approved by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.

1. Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

This position is based at The Canberra Hospital under the supervision of A/ Prof. Howard Galloway. The position is available for either 6 or 12 months and further information can be obtained from:

2. Melbourne, Victoria

3. Perth, Western Australia

This position has been running since January 2003 and is based at the SKG St. John of God Hospital branches, under the supervision of Dr Nick Wambeek. The position is available for 12 months and provides a comprehensive program in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal radiology. Further details can be obtained by contacting:

4. Albury, New South Wales

Regional Imaging Limited is a large, regionally based private radiology group based in Southern New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. The group is part of the national I-Med network of radiology companies An opportunity exists to join Regional Imaging in an accredited Advanced Training Position in Musculoskeletal Imaging. The program encompasses all musculoskeletal imaging but has a particular emphasis on MRI, ultrasound and interventional MSK.

The position would be based primarily in Albury, a large regional centre with relaxed lifestyle, excellent schools and facilities and close access to some of Australia's premier tourist regions. In addition the candidate would have regular rotation to our Wagga practices, just over an hour's drive away. Further details can be obtained by contacting:

Overseas positions

Advanced training in musculoskeletal imaging is available at many institutions. The most comprehensive list of fellowships in the USA is maintained by the Society of Skeletal Radiology.

*Note: These positions are often filled 18 months before commencement although last minute positions do become available.
