There will be no Medicare rebates when GPs order knee MRIs for the over 50s from November 1. Rachel Sporn (Olympic basketball medallist) and Wayne Schwass (AFL premiership player) have just turned or about to turn 50, and spoke out in support of ADIA’s campaign, as well as the National Seniors advocate Ian Henschke. In the May Budget, the Federal Government confirmed that from 1 November this year, it will restrict GP referrals for MRI of the knee to patients under 50. We are asking for you to participate in an Australian Diagnostic Imaging Association-led campaign to put pressure on the Health Minister to reverse this decision.CONTINUE READING
