Membership

Membership of AMSIG is open to radiologists, registrars and health professionals with a strong interest in musculoskeletal imaging.

It is anticipated that members spend a significant part of their working week in musculoskeletal imaging, but membership is also open to sports physicians, pathologists, rheumatologists and others in related disciplines with an interest in musculoskeletal imaging.

The opportunity to apply for a Travelling Scholar Grant of up to AU$5,000 – AU$10,000 to support travel to an international conference where recipients will present an MSK imaging research project.

Attendance at ASMs is open to all, but members receive early notification of these important annual meetings and have access to MSK colleagues for clinical discussion.

Application Process

Membership applications are completed online. Simply select “Join AMSIG” and fill in the required details on the Application Form, including the required documentation. Your application will then be sent for approval.

AMSIG Membership


$385 incl. GST for the first year and then $275 incl. GST every year thereafter.
Your CV and a sponsorship letter from one current member is required when applying.

MSK Registrars-in-Training can join AMSIG for free during their training period. Please submit your application here, including an up-to-date CV, and a sponsorship letter from a current AMSIG member or Director of Training for consideration. Terms and conditions apply. 

Registrars should advise of the date when they finish registrar training within the application. At the conclusion of the training period, registrars are then eligible to apply for promotion to free Fellow membership for up to 12 months without re-applying for Executive approval. The following terms and conditions apply:

  1. Applicants must be working currently in MSK medicine in either Australia or New Zealand and their application must be supported by an MSK supervisor/colleague and/or AMSIG member.
  2. Terms and conditions apply. You will need to submit an application online, including an up-to-date CV.
  3. All applications will be subject to AMSIG Executive approval.
  4. Non-radiologist healthcare professionals joining AMSIG as an Associate Member, are not eligible to be progress to a position on either the Education or Executive Committees.
  5. Healthcare professionals wishing to take advantage of this offer, will need to complete all application forms and supply credit card details for membership annual auto-renewal in the January, following their application.
  6. The AMSIG Calendar year is from January to January, the AMSIG Associate Member membership concludes at the end of the AMSIG calendar year, regardless of the date that the Associate Member joins within the 12-month period.
