AMSIG provides a central directory of Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiology Fellowships, supporting radiologists in advancing their subspecialty training across Australia and New Zealand.

Several positions are currently available for advanced training in musculoskeletal imaging, approved by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.

A privately funded full-time MSK Fellowship opportunity which includes comprehensive multimodality diagnostic and procedural work, with a particular focus on diagnostic MRI.

Te Toka Tumai Auckland MSK Fellowship

The Musculoskeletal Imaging section of the Department of Radiology at Auckland City Hospital (Te Toka Tumai Auckland) has a full-time, fixed-term (12-month) fellowship.

Western Australian Government

Western Australian Government has two 12-month MSK positions at Fiona Stanley Hospital with fellows rostered to Fiona Stanley, Fremantle and Rockingham hospitals.

The main MSK fellowship positions across Australia and New Zealand are currently listed on the AMSIG website and are updated as new Fellowships are confirmed.

Each candidate will need to reach out directly to the companies listed, to see if you would be eligible as an international radiologist to apply with supervision despite not having RANZCR.

As at November 2025, there are also potential changes coming with regards to medical licensing for overseas Radiologists with AHPRA in 2026 to make it easier to work in Australia. See the AHPRA Medical Board website for further information.

AMSIG does not charge a fee for organisations to list their MSK Fellowship program on this page, or for fellowship applications.

The following questions should be directly addressed to the organisation hosting the Fellowship prior to the start of your Fellowship.

AMSIG Fellowship Membership

Fellows currently in an MSK Fellowship are eligible to apply for up to 12 months of free AMSIG membership including access to all AMSIG member entitlements. These include but are not limited to:

  • Educational meeting videos and presentations from local and international MSK experts
  • Access to the digital edition of the Skeletal Radiology Journal
  • Relevant news, data and updates from associated MSK Imaging groups worldwide (including preferred rates to attend meetings, where possible)
  • Reduced conference rates to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM)

AMSIG welcomes your application, and we look forward to you becoming part of our professional forum of MSK specialists within the Australasian region.

  • Applicants must be in an MSK fellowship and supported by fellowship supervisor and/or AMSIG member.
  • All applications will be subject to AMSIG Executive approval.
  • Fellows wishing to take advantage of this offer, will need to complete all application forms and supply credit card details for membership annual autorenewal in the following January.
  • If the applying Fellow does not wish to supply credit card details for auto-renewal, they are still eligible for up to 12-months free membership, and at the conclusion of the free membership, their membership is cancelled in full. If they wish to join AMSIG again in the future, they will have to reapply to be an AMSIG member and pay all applicable joining and other fees as per standard process.
  • The AMSIG Calendar year is from January to January, the free Fellows membership concludes at the end of the AMSIG calendar year, regardless of the date that the Fellows joins within the 12-month period.
